Welcome to The Young Person’s Guide to the Cello blog! My name is Phoebe Pierard, a young cellist living in New Zealand. I come from a large, musical family. I used to learn from my father, who is a professional musician and cello teacher as well as a family friend who used to teach at Auckland University. I now learn from a member of the APO. I’ve been playing for just about eleven years and shall be sharing with you my life in music; how I practice, the music groups I play in, recent concerts, photos, insights and news. So explore!

P.S. The photo above is my trying out an electric cello in Switzerland last year – what an experience!
